About

Brighton Psychotherapy Practice:
MY NAME IS MARK FLETCHER

I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist situated in Brighton, and registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council.

Mark Fletcher provides psychoanalytic psychotherapy to people who have a range of emotional, psychological, interpersonal and mental health difficulties in the Brighton and Hove area.

I am highly experienced in the field of mental health and have worked in both the NHS and private practice for more than 30 years and am now in full-time private practice.

You might already be informed about psychotherapy and how it might help with your individual difficulties, or you might be new to the idea of seeking professional help and be wondering how psychotherapy works and what to expect.

WILL PSYCHOANALYTIC PSYCHOTHERAPY HELP?

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is an evidenced based therapy and there are now many studies and research findings which support its efficacy. A recent finding is that it not only works but keeps on working long after the therapy has come to an end.

In approaching a psychotherapist for help it would be worth taking into account an important research finding which has shown that the factor which most powerfully influences positive change is the quality of the relationship between the therapist and the person seeking help.
